Amazing lady. . .born during the Civil War, survived the San Francisco Earthquake barely a year after the death of her husband (a vaudeville juggler), then had to raise her children on little or no money. At age 64, she became a freshman at the University of California, graduating in 1934 with a B.A. degree. At age 78 she traveled to Hollywood to begin her acting career, and continued to do so until age 98!
